We are 28 days away from Election Day, but if you’ve requested to Vote-by-Mail, Election Day has arrived early! Today, ballots will be mailed out and you should receive them in your mailboxes starting this week. I would be honored to receive your vote to become the next Mayor of Fresno! When it arrives, please mail in your ballot early so that it’s guaranteed to be counted. And please join us on Saturday, October 15th for one our biggest walks of the Election. We will flood the streets of Fresno with supporters to Get-out-the-Vote followed by food and beers at Tioga Sequoia.

Today is a special day for me. It’s my 44th birthday. I share it with Emily Davidson and Eleanor Roosevelt. Both good progressives. One a British suffragette and the other a pioneering First Lady of the United States.
The spotlight on the national race was focused towards fitness to serve. The revelations about the Republican Presidential nominee has revealed that Nunes is loyal to his party’s leader. Congressman Nunes confirmed his support yesterday. He is a believer. I issued the following statement on October 8:
Immediately, my heart goes out to those who have been subject to similar abuse. It is a disturbing way for the country to be forced to acknowledge that a woman is still, in these United States, subject to be treated as a possession by men. This is a new low. That this man—with a genuine shot at becoming the head of the most powerful country in the world—is capable of behavior such as this should be shocking, it is not. This is horrible but I am not shocked. It is consistent in its nastiness with other comments from this man. Finally, with knowledge of earlier statements, my opponent felt it was okay to invite this individual—his endorsed candidate—to this community, into our neighborhood. This revelation is therefore an indictment on the Congressman’s judgement as well.
Meanwhile, our campaign has been gathering momentum in the field. We have been working with allies in both counties and things are really moving now. With your help we will keep up the fight. I’m asking you donate $22 in lieu of Birthday gifts or flowers. Together we’ll keep the pressure on the Congressman and win this election!

Yesterday afternoon, the Washington Post released shocking audio of Donald Trump outright bragging about sexually assaulting women and how his fame and wealth simply “let you do it.”
These comments are predatory and they make me sick. They are vile and Trump must be stopped.
You can’t frame this any other way — Trump is talking about sexual assault. He says he grabbed and kissed women without their consent and is now trying to chalk it up to “locker room banter.”
No one should be using these terms when talking about women, especially not someone who is running to be our next president. Donald Trump had long disqualified himself from this race through his bigoted, racist, and sexist agenda — and this should be the final straw for any Republican elected officials who still support him.
Washington is not a boys’ locker room. It’s a place where we need diverse leadership — including more women in public office — who will serve as role models for a generation of children that need to know sexual assault is wrong.
There is no excuse for these actions. We need to hold Trump accountable at the polls — and we need to continue pressuring his Republican supporters to do the right thing and abandon his candidacy.
