Yesterday afternoon, the Washington Post released shocking audio of Donald Trump outright bragging about sexually assaulting women and how his fame and wealth simply “let you do it.”
These comments are predatory and they make me sick. They are vile and Trump must be stopped.
You can’t frame this any other way — Trump is talking about sexual assault. He says he grabbed and kissed women without their consent and is now trying to chalk it up to “locker room banter.”
No one should be using these terms when talking about women, especially not someone who is running to be our next president. Donald Trump had long disqualified himself from this race through his bigoted, racist, and sexist agenda — and this should be the final straw for any Republican elected officials who still support him.
Washington is not a boys’ locker room. It’s a place where we need diverse leadership — including more women in public office — who will serve as role models for a generation of children that need to know sexual assault is wrong.
There is no excuse for these actions. We need to hold Trump accountable at the polls — and we need to continue pressuring his Republican supporters to do the right thing and abandon his candidacy.
Thank you for standing with us today.

The Debate: Derlet vs McClintock
Dear Supporter,
Congressman McClintock and I debated the issues this past Tuesday morning in Auburn. I am sending to you the key points I made in my closing statement:
- Over 200 years ago, our Founding Fathers chose a federal system of government because they knew that a strong central government would be necessary in a changing and challenging world.
- Today, as we look beyond our borders and across the oceans we see just that.
- My opponent, Tom McClintock and I differ on so many issues important to the future of our children and the future of this great country.
- I want us to have a common sense government that insures a fair playing field for a free market economy and the people who live here.
- My opponent wants small government, even if means handing over your rights to special interests.
- We need a strong consumer finance protection bureau to protect your rights.
- We need Congress to stop the price gouging by so many pharmaceutical companies.
- We need open spaces in the Sierra Nevada to sustain these areas for a billion-dollar tourist economy.
- My opponent votes to weaken clean water and air standards, which would harm our health and that of our children. Let us not forget what happened in Flint Michigan.
- My opponent supports measures that decrease taxes on multi national corporations and the multi-millionaires, like the CEO of Wells Fargo. But don’t be fooled, what they don’t pay, you will pay.
The choice is yours; Do you what a Congress that writes the rules to favor special interests and take away your freedoms, or a Congress to write rules that will favor, benefit, and protect all of us.
Thank you
My name is Bob Derlet. Please assist our campaign and contribute.

Hillary For America Statement On U.S. Government Formally Naming Russia Responsible For Election-Related Hacks
John Podesta, Chair of Hillary of America, released the following statement Friday in response to the U.S. government formally naming the Russian government as responsible for recent hacks intended to interfere with the U.S. presidential election:
“The world now knows, beyond the shadow of any doubt, that the hack of the Democratic National Committee was carried out by the Russian government in a clear attempt to interfere with the integrity of our elections. The only remaining question is why Donald Trump continues to make apologies for the Russians. Trump’s initial reaction to the hack in July was to invite further intrusions by the Russians. Even after he was reportedly briefed on the very findings that were just announced publicly by U.S. government officials, he stood on a debate stage one week ago and played dumb about Russia’s role in this hack. He has repeatedly praised Vladimir Putin, outlined a list of pro-Putin policies, and has done hundreds of millions of dollars of business with Russian interests. Even his own running mate has criticized Putin yet Trump continues to refuse. It should concern every American that Russia is willing to engage in such hostile acts in order to help Donald Trump become President of the United States. But even worse, Trump’s own actions suggests he welcomes the help. If he wants to reassure American voters, he must not only acknowledge and condemn Russia’s role in this outrageous intrusion against U.S. interests, but he must finally disclose the full extent of his ties to Russia and divest any Russian-linked assets.”
Statement from Hillary Clinton on Hurricane Matthew
As the people of Florida and the Southeast and others prepare for and deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, Hillary Clinton released the following statement:
“My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the path of Hurricane Matthew, and my heart is broken for the victims and their families in Haiti, Cuba, the Caribbean, and Florida.
“This is a serious storm, and it has already caused serious damage. If you get an evacuation order, please follow it immediately. Bring any important documents, medicines, and your pets with you. Listen carefully to instructions from local and national officials. And if you’re not sure what to do, please visit ready.gov for tips on staying safe.
“To all our local campaign staff, volunteers, and supporters: Please take care of yourselves and your neighbors – nothing is more important than that. To our extraordinary first responders and everyone working to prepare for and respond to the storm: We’re so grateful for your courage and sacrifice, especially in times like these.
“And to the people of Florida and the Southeast, and everyone in the eye of the storm: Stay safe, and know that America is with you. In times of disaster, we pull together. We’ll have your back every step of the way – today, and in the weeks and months to come.”
