The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

Hello Fellow Democrat Party Leaders…

I am seeking endorsements and support from each Democratic Club in Fresno County. My candidacy is a county-wide election, meaning EVERY registered voter in Fresno County can vote. Because of this, I am seeking endorsements and support from every area of the county.

Please inform me of your club’s endorsement process or allow me to attend your next meeting to introduce myself and candidacy. I realise that not every club endorses, however every club member will be able to vote and give of their individual support. I will need all the support possible to win this election.

I will be in the Primary Election on June 7th, with ballots being sent the first part of May. So your rapid response is also appreciated.

Opponents of voting rights have found their new battleground: Secretary of State races

This November, voters across the country will be faced with a very important decision, as election deniers and opponents of voting rights join secretary of state races across the country.

I recently co-authored an op-ed with Jocelyn Benson, Michigan’s Secretary of State, outlining the threat these candidates pose. I’d love it if you could take a few minutes to read it.READ MY OP-ED »There are already nearly two dozen candidates for secretary of state races across the country who believe the 2020 election was stolen.

Some of these candidates have attended events held by prominent members of the QAnon movement; one candidate has even proposed a bill in the Arizona state legislature that would allow that partisan body to simply overrule a secretary of state’s decision to officially certify the results of an election.

Not many people usually pay attention to their secretary of state race or even know who serves in the role, but this year the choice on the ballot is a clear and important one. This November, voters will have to choose between truth and democracy, or autocracy and lies.

These candidates will only hold power if voters let them. This November voters can unilaterally deny these undemocratic actors access to power and influence. The first step is awareness. Happy International Women’s Day!

I want to celebrate by letting you know I filed my paperwork to run for a full term as your secretary of state!

Will you help me celebrate this first step for our campaign with a contribution?CONTRIBUTE TODAY »As California’s first Black woman Secretary of State, it’s always been my top priority to protect all our state’s voices. Women were withheld from our nation’s founding promise of equality for too long. This is particularly true for Black women who experienced both sexism and racism when fighting for access. Even with the protections of the 19th Amendment and the Voting Rights Act, women’s voices are still underrepresented in the halls of leadership.

We only make up a little over a quarter of members of Congress, and of fifty states, only nine have female governors. Both these statistics are records for female representation!

We can change this with our votes. I have always said that voting is our great equalizer. Our votes are worth equal measure regardless of gender, and with the power of voting comes the power to choose your representation.

It’s been the honor of my career to represent the voters of California, and I hope you’ll join my campaign to continue as your chief elections officer. We’re closing in on ten months since we launched our campaign to unseat Kevin McCarthy. We’ve come a long way, so I wanted to take a moment to share more about why I’m in this race.

It’s pretty simple: I’m a mother, a wife, and an educator who has spent decades teaching students in this district. I’ve met hundreds of parents and did my utmost to improve the lives of the kiddos I served. I’m running because I’m sick and tired of seeing our community come dead last — in income, job opportunities, environmental quality, and so much more. Generation after generation, year after year, nothing seems to change.
