It’s been another productive week for the CDP, and we have a lot of updates. See below for a recap of the week’s activities.
The Chair and the statewide officers are nearing completion of the committee appointments, and we appreciate your patience. It has taken an unusually long period of time because there were 1,300 applicants for 300 spots, and the officers’ commitment to diversity, including geographic diversity, has made this process daunting. The statewide officers are especially proud of the fact that this will be one of the most diverse sets of committee memberships in CDP history. The Chair and statewide officers will be spending the next year working to develop proposals to modernize and reform the committee structure and appointment process.
Thank You Senator Feinstein & Senator Harris!
Late last night, in a cliffhanger of a vote, Senate Republicans tried and failed to repeal Obamacare and strip healthcare from millions of Californians.
Here in California, we are lucky to have senators who fought tooth & nail, late into the night, to defeat Trumpcare and protect our access to healthcare.

Compliance Review Commission Update
The Compliance Review Commission released its final determination in the challenge to the Chair race, confirming Chair Eric C. Bauman’s election. You can read the CRC decision here, and you can see the CDP statement here.
In Case You Missed It…
CDP Disabilities Caucus Chair Hene Kelly commemorated the 27th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
And Chair Eric C. Bauman responded to the ban on transgender soldiers: “to all the transgender soldiers who must continue to serve in silence, California Democrats are grateful for your service, and we honor the sacrifices you are making for all of us.”
One week closer to 2018!
