We’re hitting our goals, thanks to you

Team, I want to take a few minutes between events in New Hampshire to pass along some great news about our campaign.

I couldn’t be prouder of what this team has built together in the two short months since announcing our campaign for president on February 1st, and it’s all thanks to your support.

We just finished crunching the numbers, and I’m excited to share with you first that we raised over $5 million dollars in February and March — not just meeting, but exceedingour fundraising goal for the first quarter of this campaign.

When our first FEC report is filed later this month, we’ll also report having more than $6.1 million cash on hand, putting us in a strong position to keep building. That number doesn’t include what we can transfer from our Senate account, too.

But what matters most of all is how we got here. We didn’t take a dime from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists. We’re building this campaign one dollar at a time from people like you. What that looks like in practice is an average online donation of just $34.

And here’s something I’m completely blown away by: 82% of the people who’ve chipped in had never donated to one of my campaigns before. This movement is strong, and getting stronger with new folks involved every day.

What we’re doing with these resources matters — we’ve invested heavily in building our organizing team, especially in early states. In a crowded field like this, a strong ground game matters so much.

When we launched this campaign, we knew we had to work to do. I haven’t run for office since 2014, while others have spent the last six years, and millions of dollars, building a network of supporters. That’s why your help these past two months has been so crucial, and it’s why I’m so grateful to you. You’re the reason we’re in this fight, and your support has allowed us to show the country that we’ll be in this for the long haul.

There’s no question we’re an underdog in this race — but I wouldn’t bet against this team.
