This has been another productive week for the CDP. See below for a recap of the week’s activities.

Santa Clara Dems Comedy Night
Last Sunday, Chair Bauman was delighted to keynote the Santa Clara County Democratic Party Comedy Night, and spend time with some tremendous Grassroots Democrats in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Chair Bauman has a longstanding policy: if a Democratic Club, Central Committee or Caucus would like him to attend their event, he’ll make every effort to attend. If you’d like to invite him to your event, e-mail Tim Valencia.

And don’t forget… Make sure you like Eric on facebook and follow him on twitter.

In Case You Missed It…
CDP Chair Eric C. Bauman applauded the news that Governor Brown and Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León reached an agreement on final language for SB 54, the California Values Act, which will keep California’s law enforcement personnel from being used to enforce Federal immigration policy:

“Californians welcome our undocumented brothers and sisters, and the use of California’s peace officers against our own brothers and sisters would have been unconscionable”

And he asked Grassroots Democrats to sign on to his letter urging Governor Brown to sign Sen. Ed Hernandez’s SB 17 – one of the most important consumer protection and patient protection laws to be introduced in recent memory:

“Patients—especially those with chronic conditions—need medication whose price is stable, predictable and affordable. And consumers deserve to have strong protections in law against unscrupulous, predatory business practices. To reiterate, this legislation is an urgent priority for the California Democratic Party.”

One week closer to 2018!
