It’s been another productive week for the CDP. See below for a recap of the week’s activities.
Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!
Your CDP Headquarters was delighted to welcome back the Fem Dems of Sacramento for their annual holiday party/charity drive. A good time was had by all as the Fem Dems packed the house and raised hundreds of dollars worth of diapers, tampons, pads, and other personal products for folks using shelters and food banks.
Your CDP Headquarters is a great place to host fundraisers, retreats, or meetings. For more information, contact CDP Operations Director Tina McKinnor, tina@cadem.org.
#MillionsOfJobs
At our recent Executive Board meeting in Millbrae, we adopted a resolution praising Representative Ted Lieu for leading the fight to create millions of quality, high-wage jobs through an infrastructure package of direct investments by the federal government to finally update and modernize the deplorable state of the nation’s roads, bridges, and public transportation systems.
This is a great organizing opportunity for California Democrats to fight for decent, middle-class, union jobs while holding Republicans accountable on Trump’s signature issue. We forwarded our resolution to County Chairs, and we urge our grassroots activists and Democratic Clubs to call their member of congress in support of Rep. Lieu’s legislation, HCR 63. For more information, check out MillionsOfJobs.org.
Endorsement Registration for Candidates
The CDP endorsement registration process for federal and state candidates who wish to seek CDP endorsement consideration is now open. Endorsement information and registration process details available on the CDP Endorsements webpage at www.cadem.org/endorsements. The Endorsements webpage will be updated regularly.
In Case You Missed It
CDP Political Director Clark Lee urged California Democrats to help make Get Out The Vote Callsto defeat Roy Moore and elect Doug Jones in the Alabama Special Election taking place on Tuesday. The Doug Jones campaign recently launched an online phone bank — sign up here and help our compatriots in Alabama send Doug Jones to the United States Senate.
And Clark also urged California Democrats to make our voices heard on the Republican Tax Plan, which soaks the poor, raises taxes on Californians by $70 billion, and will bankrupt the country. Let’s keep up the pressure on the 14 Republicans representing California in Congress. Take advantage of this handy cheat-sheet with the direct numbers to all 14 (soon to be fewer) California Republicans.
