It’s been another productive week for the CDP. See below for a recap of the week’s activities.

Executive Board Meeting Preview
The CDP Executive Board meeting kicks off this evening in Millbrae. This weekend will be a celebration of California’s diverse and vibrant Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and of our brothers and sisters in the labor movement. We’ve got an exciting lineup of speakers, including Controller Betty Yee, Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León, Senator Richard Pan, California Labor Federation Chief of Staff Angie Wei, and NextGen California President & Founder Tom Steyer.

Our luncheon program will continue our theme of celebrating California’s AAPI community. We’ll be hosting an exciting panel discussion featuring three California members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus — CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu, Rep. Barbara Lee, and Rep. Ro Khanna. The panel topic, “Immigration from the AAPI Perspective” will be a thoughtful and informative discussion from three of California’s most prominent representatives on one of the most important issues facing California.

We’re also very excited to welcome our Sunday keynote speaker, Representative Ted Lieu! He has been one of the sharpest and most forceful critics of the Trump administration and has emerged as one of the leading voices of the Resistance. He’s also the author of the No First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act, which the CDP endorsed at our last Executive Board meeting in Anaheim. He was a rock star during this week’s hearings with Jeff Sessions, and we are eagerly anticipating his speech!

Once again, we’re featuring an event app for the Executive Board meeting. Agendas, customizable schedules, maps, and meeting documents are all just a few taps away on your smartphone. To download our app, go to your application store (e.g. Google Play or iPhone App Store) and download and install the “Eventpedia Go” app, and enter “California Democratic Party” in the search bar.
