Dolores Huerta is My Hero and One of My Biggest Supporters
I can remember doodling the United Farmer Workers eagle on my homework in Kindergarten. That’s how present the UFW was in my life from a very early age. I didn’t know everything that the UFW was doing but I knew they were helping my mom and dad, who were farm workers.
This past week, I sat next to Dolores Huerta and watched the movie, Dolores, at Fresno City College. It was surreal to sit with one of my lifelong heroes. What made the night even more extraordinary was having Dolores endorse me for Fresno City Council from the stage during her remarks. That moment will not only be a highlight of my campaign but really one of the best moments of my life. Thank you Dolores Huerta! ¡Si Se Puede!
