Trump has the final word on security clearances in the White House. And that should make us VERY WORRIED.
Just look at what has happened with Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law. National security professionals in the White House personnel office viewed Kushner as too much of a security risk to be given a “top-secret” security clearance because of Kushner’s personal conduct, business interests, and vulnerability to foreign influence.
But Trump overruled the experts and ordered a top-secret clearance for Kushner.
The President was all too happy to put highly classified intelligence into the hands of a suspected security risk.

Trump has also abandoned his duty to protect our national security from foreign interests. He still won’t hold President Putin responsible for interfering in the 2016 elections.
The intelligence community is united in warning that Russia will interfere again in 2020, but Trump disregards these warnings as “fake news.”
Trump is putting our national security at risk by undermining security professionals and the intelligence community at every turn. It’s wrong and dangerous.
