I know many of you are not able to attend our Council Meetings because of work or other obligations, so I wanted to provide an update on what was voted on related to our district. As a reminder, the next City Council Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 9:00 A.M.

Thursday, February 18, 2021 Council Meeting
1:00PM –The Zero Fare Clean Air Act – Temporary suspension of citywide bus fares beginning March 1, 2021. The resolution calls on using federal COVID-19 relief funds to pay for the cost of operating the city’s transportation system. However, it will be re-visited to propose a financing plan including private/public partnerships and grant funding.(APROVED). 5-2 vote.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information
Currently, there are two sites offering COVID-19 vaccines to individuals 75+ and Healthcare Workers.

2- Sierra Pacific Orthopedics Center

On January 29, 2021 Governor Newsom signed SB 91 extending the statewide eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021. The signed legislation will not only protect renters facing economic hardships due to the pandemic, but it will also bring relief to small property owners needing mortgage payment assistance.

Jueves, Febrero 18, 2021 Reunión del Consejo
1:00PM – Zero Fair Clean Air Act – Suspensión temporal de las tarifas de los autobuses en toda la ciudad a partir del 1 de marzo de 2021. La resolución exige el uso de fondos de ayuda federal COVID-19 para pagar el costo de operación del sistema de transporte de la ciudad. Sin embargo, se volverá a visitar para proponer un plan de financiación que incluya asociaciones públicos/privadas y subvenciones. (APROBADO).

El 29 de enero de 2021, el gobernador Newsom firmó la SB 91 extendiendo la moratoria de desalojo en todo el estado a través de 30 de junio de 2021. La legislación firmada no solo protegerá a los inquilinos que enfrentan dificultades económicas debido a la pandemia, sino que también brindará alivio a los pequeños propietarios que necesiten asistencia para el pago de la hipoteca.
