This evening President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. He did so based on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
We don’t know all the facts yet and I promise you that I’ll do everything in my power to learn the truth.
In the meantime, we know Comey was leading an investigation into Russia’s involvement in our presidential election and the Trump campaign. His firing puts that investigation into further question.
Furthermore, Jeff Sessions’ involvement in this decision raises more questions as he is influencing an investigation he pledged to recuse himself from after lying to Congress.
We cannot rest until we know the truth without partisan or personal influence. Thank you for joining me in this critical fight.
