Dear Democratic Friends,
I’m excited to announce that I am running to be the next State Senator for the 14thSenate District in the Central Valley!
I’m running for the State Senate because for far too long, Central Valley communities have been left behind. Eight years after the Great Recession our region continues to be plagued by economic inequality, disparity and chronic disinvestment. This stagnation has become the status quo for many of the people of the 14thSenate District with much of the blame for this tracing back to our failed incumbent Senator, Andy Vidak. He has left working families without a voice, without a champion, and without a leader. There is no one fighting for the causes of social and economic justice on behalf of the people of the 14th Senate District in our State’s Senate.
We deserve better!
The people of Fresno, Kern, Kings, and Tulare Counties need and deserve a Senator deeply committed to tackling poverty, creating good paying middle-class jobs, investing in education, infrastructure improvements, as well as addressing long-standing water issues, the need for cleaner air, universal healthcare and protections for immigrant communities. These priorities underscore the critical need for new leadership, real progress and fresh ideas, and they are precisely the reasons why I am running for the 14th Senate District.
Born and raised in the district, I have experienced many of the same challenges faced by the people of the Central Valley. I know the effects a lack of resources and opportunities has on our communities and what that means to our families. It has been my lifelong mission to make Central Valley a healthier, safer, and more prosperous place for everyone. Currently, I serve as the President of the Earlimart School District Board of Trustees, elected in 2012 and reelected in 2016. I am the Co-founder and Chair of the Tulare County Political Action Committee (TCPAC) and the Regional Vice- Chair of the Chicano Latino Caucus of California Democratic Party.
It is time to WIN OUR SEAT BACK! We need a local Democrat to represent us in Sacramento. I am committed to working hard to earn every vote but I cannot do this alone. I need your help; I am counting on friends and fellow democrats like you to help me along the way.
