| Today is a tough day. Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed by the Senate to the Supreme Court. This radical appointment was rushed to confirmation under a cloud of controversy, because Republicans hold power and they’re not afraid to use it.
We need to build power ourselves. We need committed, dedicated progressives who will fight the rollback of civil rights and individual liberties in the halls of Washington. We need new leadership.
That’s why I’m running for Senate, to give voice to the millions of Californians who are sick and tired of losing when we should be winning. I am running because I believe that being a strong progressive and being effective are not mutually exclusive. I am running for you.

The struggle for equality and justice is never easy. As Republicans chip away at our democratic institutions and preside over an economy that only benefits the wealthy while the cost of living is squeezing the middle class, we need to stand together in solidarity and power.
