The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

Seven years ago today, the Affordable Care Act’s Patient’s Bill of Rights took effect. Among other protections, these regulations opened the door for millions with pre-existing conditions to receive life-saving care.

But instead of celebrating the progress we’ve made, Republican Senators are rushing to pass a bill that would obliterate these protections and take healthcare away from millions.

In a year full of reckless bills to destroy our healthcare system, the Graham-Cassidy plan stands out. It’s so bad, Vox reporter Sarah Kliff called it “the most radical of them all.”

We can’t let Washington get away with blowing up our healthcare system.

Will you join me in asking Congress to stop repeal of the Affordable Care Act now?

If you think the consequences of this latest plan won’t affect you, you might want to think again.

Not only does the Graham-Cassidy plan wipe out basic protections for California families — the restrictions on women’s health coverage are so severe that the plan would actually make current California health insurance policies illegal.

The plan will also penalize California for successfully providing more people with coverage, taking $78 billion in federal funds away from our state — far more than any other.

I’ve already worked with Governor Brown to allocate $20 million in grants to keep community health clinics open across the state and provide whatever safety net we can. But we need the folks in Washington to work with us — not against us, to make sure every Californian has access to life-saving and everyday care.

I’m putting pressure on Congress to do what’s right, but I need your help

Add your name now, and tell Congress: “Don’t repeal the Affordable Care Act.”

Thanks for doing your part,

John
