All over the world, right-wing populists are using fear and hatred to win power. Here in the US, Republicans have made gains in traditional Democratic strongholds, pitting one group of working families against another, exploiting real economic anxiety and playing into bigotry, xenophobia and mistrust.
Here in California, we’ve taken a different path- taking the high road on economic policies that protect working people, welcoming immigrants, and doubling down on our commitment to equality. We’ve taken this path because of the hard work of grassroots activists like you.
My campaign for Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party is rooted in this basic philosophy: When the Democratic Party takes its energy and ideas from activists on main street instead of bankers on Wall Street, we win. California can keep leading the way, but only if we stand firm on our values and stand together.
