Eighty-two years ago today, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the original Social Security Act into law and laid the foundation for consistent income for older and disabled Americans.
Social Security is a crucial part of our nation’s safety net and ensures that senior citizens, people with disabilities, and veterans are able to live a life of dignity. On today’s anniversary, will you share our graphic celebrating this important program? As we mark this anniversary, it is also important that we continue to stand up to the Republican Party’s consistent efforts to cut or eliminate Social Security entirely — and other critical safety net programs like Medicare. Thank you, Eric C. Bauman, Chair
