When I first met Andrew, the thing that stuck out most to me was that he was earnest and genuine. He’s been honest with me from that first moment, and still, to this day, he wears his heart on his sleeve.
When we were first together, that meant that I always knew exactly how much he cared about me. Now that we have two children together, it means that I can see how much he cares about them.
No matter how busy he is on the road, Andrew makes sure to call us as much as possible. Even when he takes the red-eye back to New York, he wakes up to take our oldest son to school. The kids don’t know exactly what it means that daddy is running for president, but they do know, even when he can’t be home, that he loves them, and they’re the most important thing in his world.
I’m unbelievably proud of what my husband is doing. He’s a man on a mission, and I fell in love with how animated and passionate he gets when he’s trying to solve a problem. But I’m even more proud of the father he is, and our two young boys are lucky to have such a wonderful dad.
I get to see Andrew between the campaign stops, and I know exactly how much your support means to him. It boosts him up and keeps him moving forward, as much as his love for our children keeps him focused on the campaign trail. I know it would mean so much to him to read all the names of supporters tomorrow, wishing him Happy Father’s Day.
