We are thrilled to announce that #TeamKE has unionized (see press release below)! The Democratic Party has always been the Party of the working class – Labor’s values are OUR values. We’d like to congratulate and thank our Team KE employees for their initiative, organizing and commitment to solidarity. We’re all better for it.

Kimberly Ellis for CDP Chair Workers Unionize
Richmond, CA — Campaign workers on Kimberly Ellis’ campaign for California Democratic Party (CDP) Chair have ratified a collective bargaining agreement, becoming the second set of workers in the race to unionize with the Campaign Workers Guild.
“I am so grateful to work for a candidate that really puts her values into action when it comes to being pro-labor and to the Campaign Workers Guild for facilitating this process. CWG has changed the standard when it comes to working conditions for campaign workers, and I am excited to join this union and be part of that force for change.” said Katie Meyer, Regional Campaign Director and a member of the unit’s bargaining team.
“After a year of working on other campaigns, it feels great to have full benefits including health insurance,” said Brandon Harami, Regional Campaign Director and a member of the unit’s bargaining team, “We negotiated extensions of these benefits and I am so thankful to work for a candidate like Kimberly who made adjustments to her own campaign budget to make it happen.”
Candidate Kimberly Ellis greeted the news enthusiastically. “Our credo for the California Democratic Party has always been, ‘don’t talk about it, BE about it.’ I am so proud to stand in solidarity with my staff as they continue to raise the bar for workers’ rights, including healthcare, pensions, a living wage, and a safe work environment, both in and out of politics,” she said.
