Today I joined tens of thousands across California in marching to demand sensible gun safety laws to protect our schools, communities and homes! #MarchForOurLives
At the Sacramento Press Club debate earlier this week, I asked my opponents in the race for Attorney General to repudiate any endorsement from the NRA and return any contributions from the NRA and from gun manufacturers. The Republicans said they would not repudiate an NRA endorsement or decline gun money. We are still waiting for an answer from the Appointed Attorney General, who ducked the debate .
I am proud to stand up to the NRA, the gun manufacturers and anyone else who opposes sensible gun safety laws.
As Attorney General, I will also make sure that we take guns from the thousands of Californians who by law should not have a gun. The Appointed Attorney General has failed to eliminate the huge backlog in the Armed Prohibited Persons Database which he administers. He has been in office over a year and failed to take guns from thousands who are subject to domestic violence restraining orders, violent felonies, or have been adjudicated too mentally ill to have a gun. He is simply not doing the job.
I look forward to making Calfornia safer as Attorney General, by strongly enforcing our gun safety laws and advocating for more sensible gun safety laws.
