| Today we honor our veterans. We honor the men and women who have served in the United States military and who have fought to defend our country. We owe our veterans the very best — and we know that, too often, our veterans have been left behind by the very people they fought to protect.

California is home to the largest veteran population in the country — but we are also home to more than one quarter of the homeless veterans in America.
