After 43 years of service to workers in the Central Valley, Randy L. Ghan has died.
On Friday, December 7, Randy L. Ghan, longtime Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings, Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO passed away while visiting his family in Turlock.
Randy had been enjoying a partially-retired status from the Council since 2017 but remained active in his affiliations with multiple non-profit organizations, his fraternity at Humboldt State University and his diverse array of business partnerships.
Details of his passing are unavailable. His memorial service is being planned for January 14.
“After 43 years of service, including 27 years as our Executive Secretary-Treasurer, there is literally nobody in the Central Valley Union Family that can remember a time when Randy wasn’t leading the fight for workers’ rights in our region. Our Council staff and Executive Board members are deeply saddened by the void that his sudden absence has created. We have yet to establish official plans to memorialize Randy’s legacy, but his many contributions to this movement and this community will never be forgotten. His vision and passion for workers’ rights has influenced multiple generations of leaders that will carry on his work”
– Dillon Savory, Executive Director of the Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings, Central Labor Council.
