LGBTQ workers should be protected against discrimination.

I’ve banned taxpayer-funded travel to states that discriminate. I’ve gone after perpetrators of hate crimes. I’ve fought in court to protect transgender soldiers and LGBTQ parents.

Today, on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, people and organizations around the world observe something we fight for every day in California: ending LGBTQ discrimination.

While we work toward progress around the globe, we also have our work cut out here at home.

Right now, the Supreme Court is considering a critical case that will determine whether employers have the right to fire their workers for being LGBTQ.

No worker in America –– or anywhere –– should be fired because of their identity. If conservatives get their way, millions of Americans will remain in the shadows, forced to hide their sexual orientation and gender identity.

We must stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBTQ community and demand the Supreme Court block efforts to make bigotry and discrimination the law of the land.

In California, we play our part to fight LGBTQ discrimination every day. Now it’s time to help others do the same.

Thank you,
