Dear Friends:

-Whatever happened to plans to build a community college campus  and career technical center (vocational center) in Southeast Fresno?

-Where did the Bond E proceeds that were supposed to go to Southeast Fresno go? How will the remaining $30 million of unexpended funds be allocated?

-How much of the Bond E funds earmarked for Southeast Fresno go for creation of the Clovis Community College Campus?

-Where will the new Bond C money ($531 million) be spent?

-Why is SE Fresno a low priority when it comes to the investment of financial resources that can improve the quality of life of residents like in the areas of  education, training and green space?

-The idea of using the 49-acre park site to build a vocational training center is again being discussed by City officials. Thanks to the great support and leadership of Trustee John Leal, Miguel Arias, and Eric Payne this proposal did not go anywhere.  SE Fresno organizations support construction of a vocational training center but not on a site donated by the National Park Service that has been designated to be used as a park. The State Center Community College District purchased 120 acres at Clovis and  North that should be used for the construction of the facility needs of the SCCCD. We support the construction of a vocational training center on the SCCCD’s 120-acre site or any other site in Southeast Fresno.

TO MAKE THE NEEDS OF SE FRESNO A HIGHER PRIORITY WE ALL MUST PARTICIPATE AS THESE DECISIONS ARE BEING MADE BY GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE OFFICIALS.

Please join us for an excellent opportunity to present your ideas on how  to spend the $531 million Measure C Bonds proceeds to improve education and training facilities in our community at an upcoming community forum. (Please mark your calendars and plan to attend). This event is scheduled as follows:

MESSAGE ON PARKS AND SOCCER COMPLEX:

We are currently in negotiations with the Mayor’s Office and the National Park Service about the use of the entire 49-acre site for the construction of a regional park and soccer complex facility. More than 20 community organizations support our application to make this a community-funded and operated project. Supporters of this project are also encouraged to attend this important community forum.

Please let me know if you are planning to attend this important event.
