I needed to make sure you saw this:
News broke recently that President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are forging ahead with an out-of-touch and irresponsible tax plan that will give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires while raising taxes on working and middle-class Californians.
As if that weren’t bad enough, under their plan, 4 million Americans would lose health care. It raises taxes on working families and takes away their health care coverage. You’ve got to be kidding me.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has calculated that health insurance premiums would rise if this bill becomes law, leading 4 million Americans to lose health insurance by 2019 and 13 million to lose insurance by 2027. That is unacceptable.
Trump and McConnell are going to try and push this plan through the Senate as soon as this week. We cannot let that happen, Michael.
This reckless and harmful GOP Tax Plan will hurt Californians while helping millionaires and billionaires. We cannot let them strip 13 million Americans of their care while helping the top 1% get a tax break. Sign our petition to tell the Senate to say NO.
