*** Tony Thurmond has been endorsed for State Superintendent of Public Instruction by the CDP ***

Dear Friend,

Something big is happening in my campaign for CA Superintendent of Public Instruction. Like my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter to be the first to see this major milestone in my campaign early tomorrow morning. Be ready to share far and wide! #KamalaForTony

More big news: the Sierra Club has officially endorsed me for CA Superintendent of Public Instruction!

“Tony Thurmond is a proven leader for the environment and environmental justice.  He understands that the best education for all children is a key link in the effort to protect the planet.  His record and experience are exceptional and we’re delighted to give him Sierra Club’s endorsement.” – Kathryn Phillips, director of Sierra Club California

I am proud to be the only candidate in this race endorsed by environmental organizations, including the Sierra Club, California League of Conservation Voters, and the California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA-PAC).

For me, environmentalism and education go hand in hand.  As Superintendent, I’ll continue to be a voice for environmental protections, while fighting for investment in school-based health services, sustainable schools, and superb science curriculum to educate California’s future environmentalists and scientists.

And just like I fought against the Trump administration when they threatened to allow new drilling off the California coastline, I will fight Trump and his Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, whose terrible education policies threaten to defund education, privatize public schools, and trample students’ civil rights.  Millions of dollars from some of Betsy DeVos’s former board members are pouring in to defeat our campaign, but we will not allow California’s public schools to be bought.

Will you chip in today to support our grassroots campaign for great public education?

Thank you for your support!  After tomorrow’s big surprise, we’ll be more than ready for mail ballots to drop on Monday, May 7.  Thanks for your help spreading the word!

With gratitude,

Tony Thurmond
