Dear Fellow Democrat,
My name is Eleni Kounalakis, and I’m running to be the next Lieutenant Governor of my home state of California. I’ve met many of you during my summer road trip to nearly every county across the state, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again this weekend.
For those who haven’t met me yet – I’m running for Lt. Governor because I know that California must lead the way into the future. The Lt. Governor is responsible for advancing economic development and prosperity, and as the 6th largest economy in the world, I know that it’s our California values that make us the economic engine of the country.
But while business is booming for the wealthy few in this state, the cost of living, healthcare, housing and education continues to soar – and so many working and middle class families are struggling to make ends meet.
And that needs to change.
I will use my experience as a proud, lifelong Democratic activist, who has been deeply involved with the state party for over 25 years; as a diplomat, who has served as President Obama’s Ambassador to Budapest; and as a businesswoman, who helped tens of thousands of middle class families own homes, to make sure that the future is brighter for all Californians.
Because of this experience and commitment to California’s future, I’m so proud to have earned the early endorsement of Senator Kamala Harris.
I would be honored by the opportunity to share more about why I’m running and why I believe there’s so much at stake in this upcoming election. That’s why I’m inviting you to join me this Friday in Anaheim.
