When we launched this campaign, Elizabeth decided we’d run it differently.
She announced that we’d say no to holding private fundraisers where you can only get in with a big check. We’d say no to phoning up millionaires and billionaires to ask for money or for them to start a Super PAC.
She wanted this campaign to be built by the people that she’s fighting for every day. That’s you — not the mega-wealthy and well-connected.
Reporters, analysts, and pundits across the country were skeptical whether her decision would pay off. But their opinions didn’t matter to Elizabeth. She was going to run the campaign she wanted to run.
And each and every day since, we’ve built this movement together — the right way. Instead of going to those fundraisers, Elizabeth has hosted over 130 town halls in 27 states and Puerto Rico — and taken over 55,000 selfies with supporters. She’s had the time to meet voters one on one, face to face, family to family at town halls and events across the country.
Those pundits are still skeptical — but we have another chance to prove them wrong. After our September FEC deadline, we’ll have to publicly report our fundraising numbers. Skeptics will be poring over our fundraising numbers to see if we’ve been able to continue to grow this movement with only grassroots donations.
Now that we’re at a critical moment in this race, we have to ask you: Can you chip in so we can send a powerful message to people across the country that a grassroots movement is not only possible — but it will win?
If you chip in today, we’ll even send you a free sticker as a thank you for helping grow our movement to put power into the hands of working people — not the wealthy and well-connected.
