Bliatout Congressional bid shows growing momentum as grassroots victory is an important first step in winning the California Democratic Party’s endorsement
FRESNO, CA — 31 local Democratic Party activists and leaders voted for Bobby Bliatout, twice as many as 2nd place Phil Arballo, at Region 8’s Pre-Endorsement Conference on October 6th. While 70% is the threshold for the region to recommend an endorsement, Bliatout’s strong showing of 54% allows him to pursue the nomination at the California Democratic Party State Convention in November.
Commenting on the results, Bliatout stated:
“The people who participated in this Pre-Endorsement Conference represent some of the most dedicated and passionate Democrats in the district. Knowing that so many of them support my campaign inspires me to redouble my fight against the reckless and partisan behavior of Devin Nunes. It is by their example, and with their support that we will beat Devin Nunes in 2020.”
Preliminary results show that 58 of 63 eligible voters participated at the Pre-Endorsement Conference. The 62 Democrats are made up of Democratic State Central Committee members from Fresno & Tulare County, Democratic Central Committee members, and representatives from officially recognized Democratic clubs. Only members of the Democratic State Central Committee can participate in the next step of the endorsement process at the California Democratic Party State Convention.
Bobby filed over $200,000 during the most recent FEC deadline and has been endorsed for Congress by the following elected Valley Democrats:
