The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.

We’re in unprecedented times and facing big challenges – from the skyrocketing cost of health care to crippling college debt to the politics of bigotry. The status quo is no longer effective, and we can no longer afford to wait our turn. Our day is today, and I hope you will join my campaign for Congress.

I’m running for Congress because we need new leadership in Washington. We need someone in Congress who understands, and can be a voice for, the thousands of Valley families who are working hard, playing by the rules and still struggling to make ends meet – families like my own. I hope you will stand with me, and together, we can rebuild our middle class, fight for health care access for all and lift kids up and into college – not locked down into cages.

There’s a lot of work to get done, and I can’t do it without you – join me.

I’m the daughter of Mexican immigrant farm workers who instilled in me the values of hard work, community and service. Because of their sacrifices and faith in the American dream, my siblings and I were the first in our family to go to college, and I was able to serve as the first Latina in the history of the City of Fresno to be elected Council President. We need someone in Congress who is working every day to make sure that opportunities and the American dream are here for generations to come.
