As a political outsider, I expected to watch the other candidates receive the majority of endorsements from Senators, ex-Presidents, and civic leaders across the country. I knew that I would need to take my message straight to the American people, because institutional support would be slow to come.
But, at our rally in Seattle on Sunday, I received the biggest endorsement you can get—America itself! Two bald eagles flew overhead at the rally, casting their support behind my candidacy. The country itself is using its wildlife to let all citizens know who the best candidate is.
As an American, my first thought was, “Wow, how majestic!”
As a politician, my next thought was, “We can probably turn this into a fundraising email.”
