On this International Women’s Day we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, and demand action to accelerate gender parity. Rights and freedoms for women have come so far, and yet we have also seen continued efforts to roll back reproductive rights and we know that women still earn less than men, on average, for the same job.

Women continue to be significantly underrepresented in corporate boardrooms and in our political system, and so our voice is frequently not heard when decisions are made about corporate and government policies. #WeCanDoBetter

We need more effective policies that support working women and families. The United States is one of only of FOUR countries in the world without paid maternity leave. What are the other countries? Lesotho, Swaziland and Papua New Guinea. #WeCanDoBetter

Please join Women For Delaine today, by committing to a monthly contribution of $25, $50 or more, to give my campaign the financial resources needed to reach voters.

I need your help if I am to be the first women Governor of California. What will I promise you, should I be fortunate enough to govern our golden state? A focus on better programs to support children, women, families, seniors and our most vulnerable populations. Access to an education system, from preschool through graduate school, that is well-funded, affordable, and assures every child has an opportunity to reach their full potential. A commitment to investing in California’s future, with a strategy and a plan for the environment, for infrastructure, including transportation, for water and other issues. I can promise you that #WeCanDoBetter, and we will.

I am asking you to join Women For Delaine today. It is an investment in our future.

For a better California,
Delaine
