Inscribed on the Statue of Liberty are the words “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” As a nation of immigrants, we cannot let that sentiment become less true under a Trump Administration.
It is horrifying that President Trump just stood in the Rose Garden of the White House with the intention of terrorizing immigrant communities, our friends and neighbors. But make no mistake: he lost.
Every person will be counted by the Census. Hate cannot and will not win.
There is strength in numbers and in our collective voice. Join me in showing President Trump that Americans will not tolerate our immigrant friends and neighbors being targeted.
President Trump has repeatedly violated some of our core national values in pursuit of his aggressive, divisive, inhumane, and un-American immigration policies. Instead of uniting our nation, President Trump wants to pit Americans against one another by provoking fear and anger.
We are better than that, America.
