There is an old saying, ‘the fish stinks from the head.’ The pervasive culture of not just sexual harassment, but sexual assault that permeates the halls of our State Capitol needs to be terminated.
As governor of California, I promise that the buck truly will stop with me. I will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual harassment in the Capitol and I won’t stop there.
Sexual harassment and assault in the workforce is hardly confined to government, corporate executive suites, or Hollywood.
Low wage workers in the fast food, hotel, and other service industries face these challenges every day, and they need our voices and our protections as much or even more than anyone else. Young employees in every walk of life and of every sexual orientation must be given more support in resisting inappropriate advances from any corner, including The Boss.
