Congressman Jim Costa Releases Campaign Fundraising Numbers Showing $575,000 Cash-On-Hand
Today, Congressman Jim Costa’s momentum in the campaign for the 16th Congressional District reached a new high as his campaign reported a campaign war chest of over $575,000, with over $269,000 raised in the most recent period alone. These fundraising numbers, combined with the early support of the region and state’s most influential leaders and organizations, firmly place Congressman Costa in the position of front-runner in the race for CD 16.
Congressman Costa said: “My most recent campaign finance filing will show that we have amassed over half-a-million dollars in the bank, representing the broad and diverse coalition of support I have earned throughout our Valley. As my campaign continues to press forward, I will continue to represent our Valley’s issues with the respect, passion and integrity they deserve, deploying our resources to ensure everyone has a voice in our political system.”
From strong fundraising numbers to endorsements from key leaders and organizations, Congressman Costa’s momentum continues to swell. He has received the early and unequivocal support of Governor Gavin Newsom, Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, US Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, Equality PAC, Fresno County Democratic Women in Action, Black Women Organized for Political Action, the International Association of Fire Fighters, and others.
Here’s what just a few of Congressman Costa’s early supporters have had to say about him:
Attorney General Xavier Becerra said, “Jim has been on the frontlines in the fight to protect our immigrant communities and will continue to be a key partner of mine as we take on the Trump Administration’s dangerous, anti-immigrant policies. Jim Costa is the clear choice to represent the Central Valley in Congress during these tumultuous times, and I strongly endorse him for re-election.”
Frank Lima, Vice President of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) 10th District, has praised Congressman Costa’s 100% record on IAFF issues, and has firmly reiterated the organization’s steadfast support of Congressman Costa.
US Senator Kamala Harris said, “Jim has been a reliable partner and I have seen, up close, his work for the Central Valley’s residents, to ensure they have clean and reliable water and affordable and accessible health care. I look forward to continue to work with him to ensure the voices of farmers and producers in the Central Valley and across the country are uplifted and heard.”
