Transportation Communications Union (TCU) Local 1315 Joins 50 Other Labor Unions in Supporting Senator Ed Hernandez’ Statewide Run
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — Showcasing his expanding support from working men and women as he campaigns to be California’s next Lieutenant Governor, today State Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez locked in an endorsement from the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) Local 1315. The endorsement adds to Senator Hernandez’ existing roster of support, which includes over 50 organizations that represent working families, from nurses to local police officers to pipe fitters, truck drivers, electricians and a myriad others.
In making their endorsement public, Maggie Cook, President Emeritus of Transportation Communications Union (TCU) Local 1315, released the following statement:
“State Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez has been a champion for working people. He’s fought for workers’ rights and protections, better wages, good benefits and a strong, thriving middle class economy. We’re pleased to announce our enthusiastic support of his campaign for California Lieutenant Governor because we know he will fight for working families all across our state.”
Today’s announcement follows recent endorsements from State Assembly Members Kansen Chu and Laura Friedman, as well as the Fontana Democratic Club, Helen L. Doherty Democratic Club and the West End Democratic Club. It also comes on the heels of recent news that the California State Legislature passed Senator Dr. Hernandez’ landmark SB-17, a drug transparency bill, which aims to address the cost of life-saving prescription drugs. The bill won widespread bi-partisan support.
Senator Hernandez’ latest digital video ad, titled, “Life or Death,” features a moving testimonial from Kendall Renee, a nationally renowned activist and singer, who is allergic to more than 95% of foods and carries at least four EpiPens with her at all times.

Unshaken by big moneyed special interests, Hernandez not only has taken on Big Pharma but also fought Big Tobacco, as the architect of California’s landmark law to raise the state’s smoking age to 21.
In addition to today’s news, Senator Hernandez has raised over $2 million for the statewide effort and has locked in far-reaching support across California.
