Hello, everyone – I hope everyone is in continued good health and well being.

I also hope you’ve heard that Fresno Filmworks is screening the film JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE starting July 4th weekend. This is our first try at Virtual Cinema (Filmworks has no current plans to screen films indoors). The film features interviews and rare archival footage, and takes a look at Lewis’ sixty-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health-care reform, and immigration. Director Dawn Porter, who also directed “Trapped” and “Gideon’s Army” uses present-day interviews to explore Lewis’ childhood experiences and his fateful meeting with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In addition to interviews with his family, the film also includes interviews with congressional colleagues and others who have been inspirational in the Congressman’s life.

The film is being offered for 30 days (once you have started the film, it is good for 72 hours). Here is a link to our film page with more information: https://fresnofilmworks.org/film/john-lewis-good-trouble/. The link to purchase tickets will be added by end of day tomorrow.

I believe you have all been past sponsors of Filmworks’ films. With Virtual Cinema, we are now seeking Partners. We would like to add our Partner organization names to our website film page and social media pages. In return, we ask that you add the event to your calendars and share posts about the film in your networks, on social media and/or email lists. Can we add your organization to our list of Partners? Thank you – please let me know if you have any questions or need further info!
