The strength of the Democratic Party relies on activists like you putting your hearts, time, and talent to making sure California continues to lead the nation with a progressive agenda.
Your commitment to progressive values is the key to both our Party and our state’s future, and we need to elect leaders who have the political courage to take on the toughest fights head on and stand up to corporate interests.
Because there is so much at stake in the upcoming election, I’m fully supporting Eleni Kounalakis for Lieutenant Governor.
I have known Eleni for decades. As a Young Democrat, her first job was with the CDP in 1992, when we helped elect Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer to Washington. Eleni has been fighting for progressive causes and supporting Democratic candidates ever since.
Eleni Kounalakis has the integrity and the resolve to lead California into the future.
She has business experience, but she has no ties to Wall Street. Her story is like many immigrant family stories here in America. Her father came to California as a teenager, worked his ass off and started his own business. Feeling the pull from the family, she worked with her father for 18 years – delivering affordable homes and preserving thousands of acres of open land – until President Obama tapped her to be the Ambassador to Hungary in 2010.
As Lieutenant Governor, Eleni will stand up to the Trump Administration to defend California’s values of equality and diversity – and to big corporate interests to stop them from screwing working families.
Eleni has grit and determination, and I am proud to support her for Lieutenant Governor.
