The Fresno County Democratic Central Committee has not endorsed any candidate in this race.
On Tuesday of this week, I announced that I am a strong supporter of Medicare for All and — if elected to the U.S. Senate — the first thing I’ll do is become a co-sponsor of that critical, progressive legislation.
The response I’ve received has knocked me over. We’ve heard from thousands of Californians who support Medicare for All, because, like me, they’ve seen how insecure life can be without access to healthcare.
Not surprisingly, Michael we’ve also heard from the critics, the naysayers, and those who depend on the status quo. They say it can’t be done. They say that it’s too hard to accomplish. They say we should take small steps and bide our time. Frankly, I’ve heard that before. Time and time again throughout my career I’ve been told to wait my turn, to play by the rules, and to not rock the boat.
Well, I’ve got news for them: The boat needs to be rocked, the old rulebooks are obsolete, and the American people cannot wait any longer for the healthcare that is their right.
