As you know, SEIU has been a part of the immigration reform fight for quit some time now. We have 2 exciting events coming soon that I would hope board members and our CVP partners who are interested , can participate.
- What: State Capital Lobby Day Against Hate
When: April 3rd, 9 AM- 5 PM
Where: CA State Capital, Sacramento, CA
*A bus will be leaving from Fresno at 5:30 AM and will return after 7 PM. We are looking for community members and partners to join us for this lobby day which will include a press conference, lobbying legislators, and a public hearing. Food, water, and all transportation will be covered. Bus logistics/ trip coordinator will be me, Mai Thao. Please RSVP by Sunday, April 2nd at 12 Noon.
- What: Caravan Against Fear
When: April 12th, 10 AM
Where: Fresno County Sheriff’s Office (2200 Fresno St, Fresno, CA 93724)
*A 60 passenger caravan will be traveling from California to Texas to stand up for immigrant rights. The caravan will leave Sacramento, CA April 10th and stop in multiple cities on the way to Texas, with the final destination ending on May 1st. The caravan is asking for support in an action targeting Sheriff Mims. We are still looking for partners to help plan the event and turnout. Please contact me, Mai Thao.
