Friend,
I’m so proud to be writing you about the latest plan my son Cory announced yesterday — as president, he will fight to expand access to high-quality, affordable, long-term care.
Most Americans will need long-term care at some point in their lives, and because of high costs, many will become caregivers themselves.
My husband (and Cory’s father) Cary fought Parkinson’s disease for 25 years, and during that time, our entire family became caregivers. It was a labor of love, but it’s one of the hardest jobs out there.
So please, sign on in support of Cory’s plan to help families with long-term care.
It’s our duty to make sure that both those who need long-term care and those taking care of their loved ones know they’re not alone. They deserve access to the resources they need to thrive.
My son’s plan would do exactly that by:
- Expanding eligibility for long-term services and support for every low- and middle-income family
- Training, empowering, and paying care workers as the essential workforce that they are
- Supporting family caregivers by paying them for the critical work they do
If you agree that no one should have to impoverish themselves or quit their job in order to take care of themselves or a loved one, add your name in support of Cory’s plan.
Thank you,
Carolyn Booker
