Add your name: tell Senate Republicans we need to protect affordable health care.
Whenever I travel the country and talk with people about what matters most to them, health care is almost always one of the first things that comes up.
It’s not always the same conversation. Some people talk about the peace of mind that comes with knowing that an unforeseen medical expense won’t derail your life, or that a child who’s finishing up college can stay on their parents’ insurance plan. For others, it’s about how important it is to be able to get regular checkups or fill prescriptions now that they have insurance for the first time in their lives, or to know that their insurer won’t be able to kick them off their coverage if they become sick.
And I hear a lot about how much worse things used to be, before all of the protections in the Affordable Care Act came into effect. The people I’ve heard from can’t afford to go backwards — and they’re counting on Democrats like us to make sure we don’t.
Because we’re on the verge of catastrophe, Michael. Senate Republicans are meeting in secret to craft a health care repeal bill that they refuse to make public, and Mitch McConnell’s goal is for the Senate to vote on it before July 4th.
If it passes, Donald Trump will quickly sign it into law — spelling disaster for millions of Americans and their families.
We must stop health care repeal, and I know we can if we come together. Add your name, and tell Senate Republicans not to take away affordable health care:
Thanks so much,
Tom
