Yesterday Gavin Newsom and John Cox held a radio debate in California. It was a spirited and important moment for Californians as they had the opportunity to judge each candidate on their values and their vision for the future of this great state. Voters had the chance to decide for themselves which candidate would be the better fighter in our state Capital.

There is no such debate scheduled between me and Dianne Feinstein. We have told her and her team countless times that we can debate her in Washington, in San Francisco, anywhere she wants. But she is set on denying the people of California an opportunity to see and hear her debate.

It has been 18 years since she last debated, and it’s long past due.

Help put pressure on her campaign by making an emergency donation to our campaign. We have to keep our momentum going.

In California – the greatest state in the nation – we hold elections, not coronations. We do not simply give power to those who have held it the longest. We value our democratic process, and believe every single voter deserves to hear from their candidates.

Maybe after a debate you’ll decide that Dianne Feinstein has earned your vote, but the important thing is that you have that chance to make the decision for yourself. I want to earn your vote, and I’ll never take you for granted. Unfortunately, Dianne Feinstein can’t say the same.
