These are the ideals we are constantly striving for to conduct an even-handed, successful primary process that will put our eventual Democratic nominee in the best possible position to win the White House in 2020.

Our party is at its strongest when we’re accountable to the grassroots. That’s why last year, the DNC voted to shift the power in this presidential primary process away from superdelegates and party insiders, and further toward the grassroots supporters who’re doing what they can to support the candidates they truly believe in.

I’m exceptionally proud of the reforms the Democratic Party has made to fulfill our promise to our voters so far, and I wanted to reach out to our strongest supporters like you to continue to listen to your feedback for the future of our party.

When I came to the DNC in the wake of the 2016 election, I knew we had to make dramatic changes to our primary process — so we did. Together, we’ve followed through on our promise by passing historic reforms to expand the use of primaries, make caucuses more accessible, and reduce the influence of superdelegates in the nominating process.

We’ve already accomplished a great deal, but hearing feedback directly from folks like you is one of the most effective ways our party can continue to improve and empower supporters nationwide.
