In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a $10 donation to my campaign. We have a huge end-of-month deadline on Saturday, and I hope you’ll let me explain why your support is so important.
You’ve probably heard that David Valadao, the Republican incumbent I narrowly defeated in 2018, has filed to run against me in 2020. He has not announced his campaign yet, but that’s not stopping him from planning major fundraisers in Washington to curry favor with GOP leaders and his old special interest allies.
Here’s the truth: Because David Valadao filed, he gets to enjoy all the fundraising benefits of being a candidate, but since he has not officially announced his campaign, he’s avoiding all the tough policy questions that candidates usually deal with from the press and at town halls and meet and greets. It’s political gamesmanship at its worst, and it’s a big reason our community rejected him.
since Valadao is likely spending all of his time fundraising, we’re concerned we may fall behind this month. I’m asking if you’ll make a contribution of $10 before our end-of-month fundraising deadline to help us keep up the pace.
If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
David Valadao has a lot to answer for — like why he voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, why he refuses to protect Medicare and Medicaid, and why he took tens of thousands from the NRA but won’t speak up about universal background checks.
The time will come when we get to expose him for the Trump lackey he is, but until then, we can’t risk falling behind while he courts corporate PACs and raises a massive warchest. That’s why your support before this deadline is so important:
Thanks in advance for your support.
