Random fact about me: I used to be a lawmaker, too.
I remember the grind of traveling and campaigning — it’s hard. And that was just within a bit of my home state, certainly not the entire United States as a presidential candidate!
But Jay just doesn’t tire — he just uses his downtime (the little he has) to sketch. And doodle. And sometimes paint. He does it for his own mental health and to bring a little joy to the campaign trail for staffers like me — and I love it.
Now, I just wish I had a way to decompress like this — with budgets and deadlines staring me in the face, I could really take up drawing right about now.
