Dear resident, 

The month of June is PRIDE MONTH! This month and everyday we stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community who has fought and continues to fight to live in a world where they can be their true and authentic selves. A world where they have marriage equality, access to medical and mental health services, and where they are free from discrimination. A world in which LOVE trumps hate. 

As an LGBTQ+ ally I am also proud to support our local businesses owned by LGBTQ+ members. Unfortunately, this year as a result of COVID-19, the famous Annual Tower District Pride Parade has been cancelled, however we can still do our part to support our community.

This month I encourage you to fly your rainbow flags, share your favorite pictures from last year’s parade, visit a local LGBTQ+ owned business and post your support on your social media platforms using hashtags #PrideMonth and #Pride2020.

Let’s stay safe so we can celebrate Pride Month next year the way it is meant to be celebrated! Together we shall overcome.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Last week, the City of Fresno released the Save Our Small Businesses Grant Program application providing much needed assistance to small businesses. The City of Fresno allocated an additional $2 Million for small business grants that was added to the existing City of Fresno Save Our Small Businesses Program. 

*PLEASE NOTE: LIST OF ELIGIBLE BUSINESSES HAS CHANGED. TO SEE IF YOUR BUSINESS QUALIFIES PLEASE SEE UPDATED LIST OF ELIGIBLE BUSINESSES PROVIDED IN THE APPLICATION DESCRIPTION

 Application Deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 5

ATTENTION: Is your small business in need of FACE MASKS? The City of Fresno announced Tuesday 10,000 masks would be made available for small businesses to give to shoppers while another 4,000 would be available for employees. The masks are available in packs of 25. For delivery, call the city’s Code Enforcement Department at 559-621-8400.
