Happy New Year! Wishing you and your loved ones all the very best in the year ahead!
This past year has been one of exciting transitions for our family. After having the privilege of serving two terms as California’s Insurance Commissioner, I started working as a Senior Director at The Nature Conservancy. We are working in 76 countries and all 50 states to tackle climate change, protect the lands and waters on which we all rely, provide food and water sustainably, and build healthy cities. I also have an appointment at UC Berkeley School of Law’s Center for Law, Energy and Environment (CLEE), where I am Director of the Climate Risk Initiative. And I was honored to be named a Distinguished Fellow at the ClimateWorks Foundation.
Isabelle graduated in May from Harvard College with a concentration in History and Literature. She just completed a six month fellowship with the Sunrise Movement, where she was a member of the communications team and also worked as an organizer. Will is a sophomore at George Washington University in DC where he is majoring in economics and loves to skateboard. Kim continues to enjoy working on health care policy and exploring California’s natural wonders, including attending the Mammoth Yoga festival. We continued to enjoy camping, hiking, travel, and our annual cross country skiing trip to Hope Valley near Lake Tahoe where this photo was taken.
We wish you a very Happy New Year!
Insurance Commissioner Emeritus
