Fresno County, this is urgent: Senate Republicans are adding a provision to their tax bill that would cause an estimated 13 million more Americans to be uninsured and raise premiums for millions of others.
And the House just passed their version of this bill, which means it’s now or never if we’re going to save our health care.
Here’s the truth: Congress should be doing what’s best for the people, not just those at the very top. This tax “plan” is a cruel catastrophe that targets working families, disaster victims, homeowners, students, lower-income Americans, and small business owners.
And according to the Congressional Budget Office, the Trump tax plan that’s been introduced in the House — and passed this week — increases the deficit by $1.7 trillion over the next ten years.
By every measure, this plan is immoral and just bad public policy. Any elected official who votes for people to lose their health care to pay for tax cuts for the top 1% needs to lose their job in 2018.
