Georgia and Alabama

You may have heard the disturbing news that state lawmakers in Alabama have effectively outlawed a woman’s right to choose in their state. They didn’t even include an exception for rape or incest.

This move comes just a week after Georgia passed its draconian “heartbeat bill” which also rolls back protections for women in cases of unwanted pregnancy. In some cases, before many women even know they’re pregnant.

The wave of anti-choice legislation we’re seeing across the country is concerning, it’s dangerous, and it’s a stark reminder that the war far-right conservatives are waging on women’s reproductive health is far from over. But these bills are also a reminder of how important it is that we stay vigilant and committed to our shared values.

In Congress, I’m committed to protecting reproductive rights. We’ve come too far to return to the dark days before Roe v. Wade became the law of the land. In light of these recent attacks, it’s important I know you are with me in this fight — so I’m asking:
